The wedding party entrance is the first key formality of the reception that sets the tone for a great night. There are no set rules on the order of who enters first - the only rule is that it’s loud and high energy! 

As a wedding DJ in Melbourne, my key tip is to pick the song that makes you excited and want to dance all the way to your table. Of course, this means it should be upbeat and full of energy!

If you have a wedding party, I suggest letting them pick their own entrance song.

You may prefer to pick the song for the couples instead – that’s cool, it’s your party you can do what you want! (Miley Cyrus reference, anyone?). Again, choose a song that is going to get your guests pumped for a fun night.

2. Song ideas

If you’re stuck on ideas, here are some of my favourite wedding entrance songs:

• We Found Love - Rihanna, Calvin Harris (a classic but a goody).

• I Believe in a Thing Called Love - The Darkness (when that guitar strikes, you know you’re in for a good time)

• Gimme Gimme Gimme - ABBA (a timeless classic)

• Latch - Disclosure, Sam Smith (of course from the drop at 1:20, yewww!)

• Disco Inferno - The Trammps (how can you not feel good when you hear this song!)

• Groovejet (If this Ain’t Love) - Spiller, Purple Disco Machine (what a bop)

• Praise You - Fatboy Slim (a feel good song)

• Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore (this one is full of energy and guaranteed to get the crowd hyped)

• Are You Gonna Be My Girl – Jet (a feel good tune by a good Australian band, say no more)

• This Will Be an Everlasting Love – Natalie Cole (maybe this made the list just because I love the movie The Parent Trap)

• Summer – Calvin Harris (Calvin sneaking into this list again…)

• Jump Around - House of Pain (there’s no mucking around with this one)

• Feels So Close - Calvin Harris (there’s a few Calvin Harris tracks sneaking into this list, but for good reason)

• Homecoming (Interlude) - Beyonce (for something a little different. Plus that drumline is unreal)

• Came Here for Love - Sigalla, Ella Eyre (this song will set the tone right for the night!).
